One time American President, Ronald Reagan once said and I quote.
“I always feel the nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government and I’m here to help”.
This brings to mind the cynicism associated with politics and politicians the world over.
They are seen as purveyors of lies, promise and fail, devilish intrigues, selfish pursuit and name it.
That of our country Nigeria is the pro-max version of this lack of faith in political office holders.
Here, manifestos mean nothing and are of no value other than that of the paper they are scribbled on.
Consequently this has introduced a cash and carry political system.
If we have to support you just pay for the support because we know you won’t do all you said you will when you become.
So just pay us first, in our pidgin lingua “money for hand back for ground politics”
This is too bad and in fact shameful.
But who is to be blamed?
Definitely not the people and again I emphasize not the people.
Our people have a proverb that I will translate thus: “He that has been dealt with by bees is afraid of big flies(filth flies)”.
The people have seen shege from leadership.
Many of our Leaders behave like lickers.
Just like blood sucking parasites to their followers, keeping them perpetually stunted.
This is as a result of their selfishness and primitive accumulation as if they live forever.
The people especially in this our political clime have lost hope in leadership.
Miraculously, contrary to the normal this scepticism has been laid to rest in Enugu state.
The past year and six months in Enugu state has been our delightful shock of having an extraordinary leader.
We see scintillating performance meeting a robust manifesto.
We see political fidelity at it’s best.
Enugu State has been blessed with a politician who says something and fulfills it exceedingly abundantly.
His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has introduced to Enugu a school of politics that is based on truth and performance, many thanks to our innovative Governor.
During the campaign he showed us were he wants to take us, we voted him in and now he is taking us there.

For the avoidance of sounding like a broken record, I won’t dwell on the giant strides of this government today.
This, I and many others have done in multiplicity of write ups not minding that new milestones show up frequently.
Let it be abundantly clear that he is fulfilling his manifesto to ndi Enugu in a hurry like we have never seen before.
Let me try and put it better, every sector of our state has received an innovative touch from the master.
Take a look at our roads, more than enough Water reserve being reticulated, Distress Response Squad and security cameras, multiple MOUs for investment and development, Smart Schools and Health centres, transport innovations, tourism reforms, and so on.
Let me not be elated to start naming them as I have promised.
Here in Enugu, It is all about public policy reforms and Infrastructures galore!
If you know you know, if you don’t know just ask and you will be put in the know.
To know what?
That tomorrow is Here in Enugu state and ndi Enugu are happy.
“Jua ase a ga agwa gi ife a na alu, jua Mike Ejiagha na ndi ozo”.
As a development expert it is very important to note that giving the steps being taken by our government, what we see today as its benefits is just a tip of the iceberg.
The glory of the future impact of these will far outweigh what we are rejoicing for today.
Governor Mbah is building the today and tomorrow of Enugu not for publicity but for posterity.
When great Leaders make decisions history is made.
Our Governor is making history in Enugu and his name will be written in gold when the history books are opened.
The most recent output from his capacity arsenal is a display of balance as a political leader.
A trait only very few leaders possess, combining governance and politics incredibly effectively.
A peep into the just concluded state congresses and primaries in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will speak for itself.
It is absolutely novel for a political party to conduct primaries and congresses without the slightest rancor from any quarter.
This is exactly what has happened in Enugu in the past few weeks.
Out of these exercises great leaders have also emerged.
As an apple does not fall far from its tree we see a replication of tomorrow is here across the local governments.
From “In Touch with Tomorrow” at Udenu to “Echoing Tomorrow is Here in Udi”.
we hear the Mantras from the seventeen local governments.
We see unveiling of Manifestos in different local governments.
Look at the brand new party structure made of people of substance and a leader who the cap fits.
As all things produce after their kind, Governor Mbah is setting up visionary leaders like himself.
My best way of summarizing the Enugu experience will be by making this reference.
In the book, the trouble with Nigeria, In his last chapter; the example of Aminu Kano, the last line;
He wrote and I quote “Nigeria will never be the same because Aminu Kano lived here”.
In the same vein, I make bold to end this short panegyric by exclaiming “Enugu has not and will never be the same ever again because Governor Peter Mbah is in charge today”.
