The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Glorious Properties Nigeria Limited and Chairman of Colliery Guest House Enugu, Hon. Chidera Nwodo, has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State over his recent award as Governor-of-the-Year conferred on him by The Sun Newspaper Publishing Limited after beating other governors in that category.
Nwodo, who said he was not surprised that the governor had been nominated for multiple awards by recognised global bodies, added that Enugu State is rapidly transforming in terms of growth and development over the past eight months.
He stated that every part of the state had started to feel the positive impact of Governor Mbah’s leadership, saying it’s already a new dawn in the state.
In a congratulatory message issued over the weekend and personally signed by him, the business mogul hailed the governor for leading a new leadership structure aimed at strengthing the state’s democracy through good governance.
“We are not surprised that both international and national awards and recognitions are tickling in because of your uncommon leadership performance and commitment towards achieving a new Enugu State of our dreams.
“In only eight months of your administration, the people have witnessed integrated and holistic development in infrastructure, education, agriculture, technology, transportation, human capacity building, health, among other critical areas.
“In an hitherto desert land, you made water available. You gave the people live. You made the dry land wet again in just 180 days. Our people are today enjoying potable water which had eluded them in the past 20 years. You are a jinx breaker.
“Identifying with your administration is the most fulfilling decision any person can make. You have always deserved more of these accolades because of your disruptive leadership drive,” the statement partly read.
Calling on residents to support the government to do more, Nwodo urged business owners and other stakeholders to continue to pay their taxes as that would enable the government to speed up more projects it is executing.
“The only way this government can keep with the pace of the ongoing intervention in almost all the sectors of the state, especially the reforms in education, social services, security, infrastructure and the economy is through our support. We have seen a government that has fiscal discipline, shrewd and pragmatic in spending, accountable and transparent in its dealings in recent times. So, we must support this government to achieve more. It’s our obligation to pay our taxes and watch the administration set an unprecedented record,” he added.
