The Youth Leadership Body of Enugu East Senatorial Zone known as Nkanu Youth Council sets to host a football talent hunt tagged; Nkanu Unity Cup Season1. The noble youth organization will partner with the African Football Legend Kanu Nwankwo through his football academy known as Papilo Football Academy to scout for young talented players in Nkanu land and project them through various Sports platforms to the global football scene.
This football competition which will run between December 12th and 19th will feature the six local Government Areas that make up Enugu East Senatorial Zone, namely; Nkanu East, Nkanu West, Isiuzo, Enugu North, Enugu East and Enugu South LGAs, respectively.
In a meeting between the National President of Nkanu Youth Council, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani who is also the Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Culture and Tourism and African Football Legend, Kanu Nwankwo with his management team, the two bodies deliberated on terms of reference, while the President stated the vision and mission behind the competition.

The former Nigeria Super Eagles and Arsenal FC star, Kanu Nwankwo, popularly known as Papilo, assured the Leadership of Nkanu Youths of his willingness to partner with them to promote Football in Nkanu land, Igbo Nation and Nigeria at large by scouting for young talents from the grassroots.
In attendance at the Meeting were Mr. Sam Alozie (Chief Scout of Heartland FC of Owerri), Mr. Ebere Ojukwu (Manager, Papilo FC), CEO Afrohomes Ltd, Chief Jerry Ezeh, High Chief Engr. Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe(MD/CEO, Firstchoice Afrovilla Ltd), amongst other dignitaries.
