As the tenure of the current local government Chairmen and Councilorship are coming to an end, the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission – ENSIEC, has announced the election of Local Government chairmanship and councilorship positions.
Dr. Mike Ajogwu who is the chairman of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC announced 23rd February 2022 as the date for local government chairmanship and councilorship elections in the state.
According to a statement made by the Chairman, Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission ENSIEC, Dr. Mike Ajogwu, all party nomination forms shall be completed and returned on or before 7th February 2022 while lists of candidates nominated by political parties shall be forwarded to the headquarters of ENSIEC from 17th – 18th January 2022.

According to Dr. Ajogwu, run-off election for chairmanship and councilorship positions if need be, shall be held on 2nd March 2022.
